Hike to Lavarela, 3.055 m
The hike starts from the Sanctuary of Santa Croce on path no. 15, then you can take path no. 12A and path no. 12 leading to the fork “Forcela Medesc”. From here a path starts, which in the first short section is not marked, then the red and white markings give excellent orientation until the summit is reached. The section between the fork “Forcela Medesc” and the Lavarela peak is the most exposed and demanding part of the tour, and is only recommended for the most experienced and fearless adventurers.
The summit is dominated by an iron cross that contains the name of the peak and has a bell that is rung by those who conquer it; it is one of the most beautiful summit crosses in the entire Fanes Senes Braies Nature Park. The hike continues downhill on path no. 12B and leads to the Ju dal'Ega pass, where you take path no. 11, which passes the Col de Locia and then leads to the Capanna Alpina, the final stage of the tour.
This hike is recommended for lovers of high mountain areas who are seeking an adrenalin rush and unique thrills.
