It’s all change from 2025, when a new state-of-the-art lift opens in La Crusc, ready to take you up to where your adventures will begin – amidst the peaks of Alta Badia.
Innovation in La Crusc
Comfort, safety, easy access... and unparalleled views: the new cabin lift represents an important step towards innovation in our ski area and is our response to the need to upgrade a small but well-appointed resort like La Crusc. It’s also a major step towards greater inclusivity, thus allowing everyone – families with small children as well as the elderly – to reach the mountain station and the Sanctuary. It is a promise of innovation, one that nevertheless respects the valuable natural resources and surrounding landscape that make this area and our community unique.

Frequently asked questions
1. Why are they building a new lift?
The current 4-seater chairlift was built in 1995 and would therefore require a major overhaul every 30 years. The new lift offers tourists state-of-the-art transport, as well as greater comfort and safety when entering the cabins.
2. Why are they installing a cabin lift and not a chairlift like the current one?
The cabin lift offers greater safety when transporting people, especially the elderly, those with disabilities or children, all of whom may have difficulty getting on a chairlift. Also, as it is enclosed, a cabin lift offers greater protection against the weather.
3. How many minutes will it take to reach the top station with the new lift?
It will take five minutes and 56 seconds when the lift is running at its maximum permitted speed.
4. What will be the maximum hourly capacity?
A maximum of 2,400 people per hour can be carried at a maximum capacity of 10 persons per cabin. In practice, however, the number will be much lower because, in actual use, not all cabins will be completely full and some will remain empty.
5. Why wasn’t a single lift built from the village to the Sanctuary?
The middle station is important both for access to the Nagler and Lé refuges as well as for reaching La Crusc SummerPark in summer.
