Discovering the unique snow cave in Alta Badia
Start at the 16th-century La Crusc church and take path no. 15B at the foot of the imposing Sas dla Crusc mountain range, arriving at the foot of Piza dles Diesc. The trail features short uphill stretches and gentle, non-demanding descents.
The snow cave is formed in spring every year by melting snow. Since it is a natural phenomenon, the cave looks different every summer, sometimes larger, sometimes smaller; it may even melt completely towards the end of summer.
After seeing the snow cave, you can either return to your starting point or lengthen the hike by returning to Badia via Prati Armentara (path nos. 18-15A-16-7A).
For safety reasons, the cave is not signposted, but the path to access it is clearly visible. Please note that it is not permitted to enter the cave as this might be dangerous.
